ULLA HAKANSON was born and educated in Sweden, where she worked at The Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm as draftsperson for one of the institute's scientific publications. She continued her drafting career in Canada before receiving a commercial art degree and running her own design business.
She now lives in Nanoose Bay on Vancouver Island where she turned to writing fiction. Seduced by the raw power of British Columbia's wilderness, Ulla began using the province's rugged landscape as settings for her novels. Small towns, quaint villages, even thriving cities provide a backdrop, adding to the flavour that is distinctly west coast. She is presently at work on a sequel to The Price of Silence, her first novel. |
