Elizabeth Horton-Newton was born in New York City on February 1st, 1953. She was 10 years old in elementary school when President John Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. As she watched the events unfold on television she became fascinated. This lifelong interest resulted in her first novel, "View From the Sixth Floor: An Oswald Tale". On a trip to Dallas in 2013 she was able to visit the Sixth Floor Museum and the view from the windows confirmed her belief there was a conspiracy and Oswald was in fact a "patsy". Disturbed that he never had the opportunity to defend himself she created a romantic story with characters who were sympathetic to the accused assassin and others who were determined to maintain his guilt.
With the release of her current novel "Riddle" she once again tackles a social issue; the illegal adoption of First Nations babies separated from their families. Weaving a romantic thriller around the issue she creates rich characters in all her writing that draw the reader into their lives.
